Hello Margaret,

I'm also trying to trace a Nicholas family - with similar names but the
dates don't quite match.

My Margaret was born circa 1834, supposedly in Bridell, Pembs but I've not
been able to check because I can't manage to download the census images, I'm
working on this!

Her father was also John Nicholas, I don't know the mother's name or any
brothers or sisters. My Margaret married Benjamin Phillips in Llanboidy
Church in 1863 and their children were Thomas, Sarah, Henry, Ben, Sophia,
Gomer, Anne and Edward.

I have found many Nicholas families in the Pembroke area so it may be worth
you looking there - several are mariners, do you suppose that is why your
John is not at home? I did come across a Margaret Nichols on the IGI,
christened 29 Aug 1847 in St Martin, Haverfordwest, Pembroke. Her father is
John but her mother is Mary. I will keep a look out, do let me know if you
see a family that may be mine.

Kate
