Hello,
I am new to this list.
I have researched my ancestor back to County Tyrone, N. Ireland,
Barrony of Dungannon, Parish of Killyman.
My ancestor, Edward Rice emigrated from Ireland June 1736. He was a
member of the Church of Ireland. He lived his whole life in Co. Tyrone,
so his family was in Ireland at least by 1710.
With a name like Rice, can I surmise that this family came from Wales
somewhere along the line?
My question is: Is there a district? shire? county? of Wales where the
Rice name was/is prevalent? Not knowing which list to subscribe to, I
picked this one hopeing someone can direct me to a list where I might
find some historical information on the Rice ancestry.
Thanks,
Bob Rice from Lancaster County, Penna., USA
