The copies of Llangendeirne are kept in Carmarthen RO - who at the moment
are in the middle of moving premises - so access is limited at present - not
to the parish registers, but to some other information.
The census though is kept in Carmarthen library, but when the Record office
does move to new premises the census will be going with them too....along
with the Registry office - all under the one roof, it will be really
marvellous, we should keep dry now, because it's a fact that it always rains
in Carmarthen - we can leave Llanelly with glorious skies, and by the time
we get to Carmarthen it's all misty and damp.
Being as you are a member of the FHS - do you want just want a look-up for a
parish register, I cannot look up the census as this is time consuming, but
if you just want to find someone in Llangendeirne, just ask me and I'll see
if it is there.
Onto your question as to Llangendeirne 1851 census, not sure how long this
will be, this as you can imagine is a very big project of ours and very time
consuming - we will keep you posted though.
I know that the NLW does have microfilm of all the census returns, maybe
you'll be lucky there when you go.
let me know if you require a look-up from the parish registers.

Hello Pauline James
At the moment I am researching the Parish of Llangendeirne. Could you
please tell me when the 1851 census of this parish will be available on
Also could you tell me where the parish registers for Llangendeirne are
kept? As I live in North Wales I am unable to visit the South as often as I
would like but do occasionally visit the National Library of Wales in
Thank you very much.
