Petty Sessions - Guardian Newspaper
6th July 1865
STEALING BOOTS - Hannah Dawkin wife of George Dawkin - pleaded guilty to this
crime. 6 weeks imprisonment, without hard labour.

BASTARDY: John Emanuel committed to House of Correction for 3 months with
hard labour for refusing to pay 5-16s-6d due to Elizabeth Christopher of
Caer Elms, under order of bastardy, and having no goods to levy.

PARISH CASE:
William Thomas, Llanedy, labourer summoned for non-payment of 1-16s-3d for
maintenance for his mother a pauper aged 72. He agreed to pay weeky - (given
3 months to save it all up) Similar cases against, Benjamin Thomas lab,
Richard Edmund of Caerbigin and William Edmund of Heberdeg, were ordered to
pay 1s-3d towards their mother, chargeable to Llanelly Parish.


These are a few that I noted on my travels on Wednesday - watch this space
