Hello Pauline,
I saw you note yesterday that mail was a bit quiet and wondered if you could help me with this message that I sent earlier in the month.
Ian,
Hay-on-Wye.

Hello List,
I posted this a while ago and was wondering in any records have been indexed for Llangadog Church. I am sure I remember something similar to this last year another researcher had some lookups done , but since a computer crash 3 months ago I lost all my old records and address book. Luckily I have printed off all the important stuff.

With ongoing research to find out about my g.g.granfather Elias Rees b. 11 Jan 1811 I think these could be his parents and his grandfather.

Found on a headstone near the parth at Llangadog Church;

"Underneath lie the remain of William Lloyd, smith and farrier of this town, who died August 15 1789 aged 36 years [ this may be 56 it is hard to read]. Also Edward Rees of Glansawdde Farm, who died March 2 1852 aged 74 years. Also Elizabeth, wife of the above named, who died August 31 1827 aged 44 years."

With respect to my family the names of Elias Rees parents were Edward and Elizabeth nee Lloyd and the dates are about right.

Can SKS please add anything to this information, I know that a lot of information about Llangadog has been collected, and i believe that the parish records have been indexed.

With thanks,
Ian,
Hay-on-Wye.
