Hello Barrie

I've had a look at Llanboidy census for 1841 - and although there are
quite a lot of Evans - no sign of your James.

Do you have his marriage certificate to Mary and therefore his father's
name. Or any other clues so that I might find some of his family there
at least?

The only remore possiblity is the following entry - James has no surname
and no "ditto" marks but It does look as if he is Lewis like the name
above.

Lamb Inn

Mary Evans 50 Innkeeper
Sophia " 30
John " 29
Sarah Lewis 24 F.S.
James 20 Ag Lab
Rees Barrett 29 Land surveyor

I have occasionally found a member of the family displaced in this way -
but as this is an inn it looks as if the family stops at John and the
others are living or staying in the Inn.
What do you think?

Following pauline's e-mail I had a quick look in Henllan Angoed and St
Clears - but still no luck.

If I find him anywhere I will let you know - meanwhile if you have any
more clues let me know.

Pat
