Dear Pauline and Pat,
Thank you both for helping out with
James Evans, I suspect he was born in Llanboidy but was registered
elsewhere, as you say the next logical step is to obtain his marriage
certificate. The IGI has a James Evans getting married in Pembrey about 1848
to Mrs. Mary Evans, this no doubt is Mary Hugh, as the first child William
was born in 1849.
The James Evans born to George Evans and
Mariah is a possibility, but none of the children or grandchildren have the
names George or Mariah, of coarse if he'd fallen out with his parents then
that could be the reason, again, the marriage certificate is the best
option.
