Thanks Joe, Very clear description. Mention of the glass used for
photography brings back a very bad memory. Years ago my Aunt gave my Mother
a glassplate photograph of her very special Grandmother (not Welsh) and in
my ignorance and misplaced enthusiasm, I proceeded to clean the glass,
consequently almost removing one eye. My Aunt retrieved the image and had
the eye replaced by an expert. My shame was great even at that young age and
needless to say I am not now the custodian of the treasured portrait. but
have, instead, a copy of the image which seems to have one eye just glaring
sternly straight ahead at me.
I thought I could purge my guilt by placing this confession on the list..
But I still don't feel very good! Remorsefilled, Helen
