Pauline, Thanks for setting me straight about this. Now how do I get to
look at the Parish Registers, please ? You said they would be held at
Laugharne.... not at Llanstephan then ? I am afraid I don't know whether the
Davies family from Llanybri were non-conformists or parish church. My father
and his siblings were brought up as catholics but were "lapsed" by the time I
came along ! My other Davies relatives in Ferryside were definitely Chapel,
although for my uncle Ernie, a cousin of my father, "Chapel" turned out to be
the Ferry Inn on a Sunday lunchtime, (round the back door). As a five
year-old, I was once sent to fetch him from the Chapel after the service
finished. Luckily a kind worshiper put me right about which "chapel" he was
actually attending.
Yes, I'll keep you informed when "my" certificates arrive, possibly early
next week.
