Hi me again
Every marriage pre 1837 had to take place in the parish
church......registration did not come into force until 1837, after this time
the couple could choose either Church, registry office or Chapel if a
registrar was present......
I will look at this marriage because I like to see for myself before looking
at earlier records.......I'll let you know what I find out - there are just
too many places in St Peter Carmarthen to look for a William Evan/s but I'll
see if I can find anything relevant for Maria Morris - and yes, this does
seem to be the correct marriage entry.
