Hi Pauline,
I don't think the Ashton's were from Carmarthen. I will have to dig
deeper on Sarah's background. She was born in Aberystwyth according to
most census's I will be applying for a marriage certificate shortly of
Evan Davies and Sarah Ashton between 1852-1858. They may have married in
Carmarthenshire, or more likely Merthyr Tydfil as their eldest son Evan
was born there in 1858. Don't waste your time on that Pauline at the
moment. I would be grateful if you could the Superintendent of Police
enquiry though.
