Hi Ray
It was nice to meet you too, even if it was a brief encounter.....we had a
busy day. Pat and I meet up fairly often......
I have indexed the parish registers for Llanelli as you know, but the IGI I
believe only has the bishops transcripts.....I know from experience that
lots of baptisms are missing from Llanelli.....my own Harvey family for
starters, and when some of them were finally baptised they were already in
their teens (my Griffith Harvey was not one of them). The best baptisms
here was in the time of Ebenezer Morris....when the baptisms were taking
place by street.....then by where the father worked.....it is wonderful to
view these registers at this time....it is really fascinating to see so many
people being baptised at the same time....and complete families at that!!
He must have had them all shaking in their boots....
I do not look on-line so I am not up to date with this method, lots of
entries were submitted by relatives, but I am told this is given too.......
I cannot find a Walter Jenkin in Llanelli pre 1832 only one in 1758 and he
is classed as Jenkins......son of William and Ann, Furnace, occup Mason.
Hopefully the CRO will be able to purchase the B.T's in from the
NLW......this is one of the requests that we put in often......because
although sometimes the information does differ from the parish register,
these do fill in the many gaps....
thanks Pauline
