Hi Janie
it's worth a thought re the River Lleidi which as you say keeps on being
re-routed....I cannot see it on the older maps that I have, but it does run
next to the brewery, close to the church, I remember it coming out behind
where McDonalds is now.....it was open then not closed in.
It would be a wonderful project if someone did catalogue the stones in Old
Road cemetary, we do not have time at present, we completed 6 sections of
the Old area of Box Cemetary and that took quite a long time, I know that
Box is a lot larger than Old Road, but still very time consuming, especially
when there is only the one recording them....
The Brewery should be a listed building, it's a shame that anything that
becomes vacant is demolished.....wonder what is going to happen to
Bryntirion Hospital (the old workhouse) and the registry office which was
the workhouse school.....it will be scandalous if these are sold off to be
demolished....there is not much heritage left here at all.....
thanks, speak soon Pauline
