Hi Pauline
My father's family PARSONS were from Irchester in Northants - originally
farmers, then opened up shops alongside the business selling pies,
sausages etc - supplied all the construction workers buildings the new
railways - and then extended the business thanks to the railways - but
eventually road and rail killed the business when the big supermarkets
came in - they eventually sold out to Bowyers, as did several other
small independent sausage businesses. The Irchester village hall is
actually the old Parsons works canteen - great service to the community!

Oddly enough I've got another PARSONS who I've done no research at all
on yet - This is on my SWANSEA line.
I have Helena (Lena) Watkins born 1876 Swansea, marrying Harold Parsons
- and I've no details whatsoever on Harold Parsons - haven't started
searching this one yet.

I've just picked up that 10p Llanelli Star supplement with tons of od
pics - somehow I missed it before - but my corner shop has been spring
cleaning and moving everything - new oweners! - and I spotted it.

I think I might contact the Star to see if I can scan some of these pics
to use on the website.

I think I'll be investigating my Watkins to Di Marco marriage next -
would love to find a Di Marco relative in Swansea and get free ice cream
for life! Mario Berni from Neath, who obviously has Italian roots was
telling me about his grandfather - who WALKED from Italy to Swansea aged
14 - well he walked across Europe got a boat to London and the train or
coach and ran out of money when he got to Swansea, so he stayed!

I've been on a totally fruitless search looking for a Sir Percy Molyneux
as a note on my Watkins file says that a Florence who married into my
Swansea Watkins was the sister of Sir Percy - I can only find one
obscure reference to a Sir Percy on the net - and that was oddly enough
locally in Swansea about someone who was his cahuffeur - seraching BMD
shows that my Arthur Watkins more likey married someone called Florence
Hooper so I'm confused on that one... Research is so frustrating - I
had, what I thought, were relatively unusual names to look for and can't
find them anywhere! I mean how many people could have been called
Gwenllian Slocombe?

The hunt continues...!

Hi Janie

I think they are from Warwick.....

Harriet Amy Parsons parents were John Parsons and Maria Hunt these
married 16th Oct 1871 in Warwick St Nicholas....she was born1893 6th
March.

My father said that Maria/h went to live in Dover ....some connection to
a Military School or something...he was not sure. Mariah Parsons died
c1944, we believe in her 90's. I am going to have to start on this line
again, my cousin who lives in Warwick found the birth and marriage
entries for me, I'll have to ask her a favour again.

my Harwoods had a connection with Northants...

I've followed one line of the Parsons in Briton Ferry for a fellow
member....

Pauline
