Hi Cherlyn
There is a parish map on your members CDRom....you can print this off....it
will show you exactly what is where...
For others who are reading this - there is a parish map of Carmarthenshire
on our web pages at
http://www.carmarthenshirefhs.co.uk
Llanon is a parish of it's own.....Felinfoel is in Llanelly parish.....known
as Hengoed hamlet......
The hamlet which DOES cause a lot of confusion is Glyn hamlet, because this
is also in Llanon, Llangendeirne and Llanelly.....(I think that is correct,
maybe more....) ALvar is the expert on Glyn hamlet!!!
A schedule is an area within a parish, some have 10-15 schedules where the
parish is a large one and was split into enumerations......a Parish is a
'place' of its own right, where at that time the Parish Clerk was in control
of most things.......the time in question in Carms there are 78 or
thereabouts parishes....
Let us know what and whom you are trying to locate.....is it still
Tumble......
regards Pauline
