Hi:
Does Wales have a log or register of petitions to the government regarding
persons sentenced to be transported to Australia. Recently, I read in
"amily Chronicles" about records in Ireland of family petitions to
government for clemency for persons sentenced to be transported to
Australia.

In the book "And they Blessed Rebecca" by Pat Molloy it states that on Nov.
10, 1843, 300 farmers from Llannon went with Morgan Hughes to entreat the
Llanelli Magistrate, William Chambers, to commute the sentence of
transportation. I would like to find out if the family or neighbors filed
any other petitions in Jac Ty Isha's behalf. Is any one aware of such
records? If so, how could I inquire about them?

Thanks for any suggestions.
Cherlyn
