Hi Diana
Yes you are correct it does look promising, the only thing that does not fit
is the birth date of my GGGrandmother Elizabeth - as mine I think was born
around 1829 but as of yet it is unconfirmed. Was known as Lizzie and my Aunt
has a photograph of her in her Midwife's uniform, and also worked in the
sweetshop of Cross Hands. Not sure if Elizabeth (Lizzie) was a trained
midwife have tried to get hold a midwife's register around 1860 upwards come
up blank on this one.
I too have been unable to trace the marriage entry of my GGGrandparents
However, my Great Grandmother was born in 1872/73 in Cross Hands, comes
under Llannon, Carmarthenshire.
But still unable to trace her birth entry (very much a brick wall) have been
working on every Elizabeth Morgan(s) on around 1872/73 so I had to check
with you just in case, as the dates are very similar.
I do have her marriage date 1898 to Charles Richards from Swansea, her
father shown as deceased in 1898 not yet confirmed date of death yet,
occupation Coal Miner. Both were living in the same street in Llanelli at
the time of marriage.
Your Elizabeth was born in 1866 which would make my GGrandmother a bit
older. My GGrandmother was definitely born 1872/73 and died in 1956 as I
have seen the death certificate and I was three months old when she died.
I need to look at a bit more as there must be some connection here
particularly as the GGGrandparents are the same names the area fits, and
their ages more or less fits. Unfortunately I know very little of this
branch of the family so every little helps.
Have been trying to trace from Camarthenshire Registrar's/Llanelli as they
have been very helpful unfortunately not been able to come up with anything
for me.
Is there anything here that might connect the family?
Regards
Sue

What is this about the midwife?? Does any of this fit for you.
