Elsie,

St Gwenog should be the parish church of Llanwenog. (The name 'Llanwenog'
means 'The Church of Gwenog', the letter 'G' having been dropped as a result
of the Welsh language system of 'mutation'.)

So, you should find your ancestors grave in the churchyard next to the
church right at the centre of the village of Llanwenog. By the way, the
description 'parish church' means the 'Anglican' or 'Established' church,
that is, not a nonconformist one.

(By the way, I passed within a mile or so of there, yesterday, on my
travels. Thought of dropping in to look for 'your' Isaac but thought it
would be better if you could make the discovery, personally.)

Subject: Still Seeking Burial Location

Hello Listers & Pauline,

I recently posted a request for possible burial sites for my 4X GGF, Isaac
EVANS.

According to the fiche of the Moyddin Hundred Monumental Inscriptions, he
died on May 13, 1848 in Llanybydder. The code used on the fiche for burial
was LWG02.

Not realizing there was an index on the beginning fiche (my thanks to a
lister who brought this to my attention), I checked the index and found
LWG02 was the code for St. Gwenog. I am quite unfamiliar with the CMN/CGN
area as most of my research has been in Glamorgan.

With this new information, can anyone help with a possible place of burial
for Isaac EVANS?

I appreciate any help offered!
