Thanks Pauline I understand the difficulty.

Unfortunately Rachel was inconsiderate enough to passed on before telling me
where she was born,

There is a reference on IGI to a Rachel Jones Christened in June 1817 with
parents of John Jones and Anne that I thought could be her.

I don't know if that is a ray of hope.
