Does anyone know of a Carrol or Carroll Carpenter, born and married in
Indiana? His wife's first and maiden name appears to be something like
"Dant Kerard" (as best as I can make out "inkwell" writing over 75 years
old). They had at least one child (George Washington Carpenter b. 1859) in
Indiana.

This family's been totally elusive before this small bit of information, so
any hint or "folktale" is greatly appreciated.
