Subject: Ancestors arrive via UFO?

Standing here next to this BRICKWALL, I started to thinking about what I
have been reading about a group of Scientist starting to look into the
UFO sightings. I believe it might turn out to be a valuable break for
genealogists all over the world. History tells us that there have been
stories of landings all over the United States since the turn of the
century. I wonder if there were also sightings back in the early
1800's? If so, this could help explain the ancestry of my
Great-Grandfather John T. Carpenter.
The U.S. Census records for 1860, 1870 and 1880 have him as being born
in North Carolina sometime between 1823 and 1825. However, no
documentation can be found verifying this birth information. From the
time he married Frances E. Richardson on 18 Janaury 1855 and until his
death on 14 October 1895 various records have been found documenting his
life. In addition, he and Frances had six children and their
descendants can be traced from their birth to the present time.
My next project is to somehow in the near future get to one of the UFO
Scientist meetings and pursue the advent of genealogy with them. My
thoughts start something like this: suppose that a space ship landed in
a freshly mowed field someplace in the western part of North Carolina on
18 May 1823, and left a baby boy near a Lutheran Church. Why Lutheran?
Possible because some of the people associated with the church seemed to
be skilled carpenters and the UFO-space ship personnel saw something
that appealed to them in the construction of the numerous buildings in
the surrounding countryside. Most of the Lutherans were from Germany
and Switzerland. Their names were Zimmerman, however, in the United
States they were persuaded to change them to their English counterpart,
which is Carpenter. I know this is only a wild possibility, but one
that has a thread through to even the present day.
Many of John T. Carpenter's descendants were skilled in carpentry. Even
this writer is fairly skilled in the trade. However, it appears to end
there, because he has no idea on how to scale the present brick in front
of which he is standing. That is why the possibility of a space ship
dropping off a little boy in North Carolina is looking better all the
time.
There are also more hurdles to overcome-for example, how do you document
UFO's in Family Tree Maker? Does the vast library in Utah have any
microfilm on UFO's? What are professional researchers thoughts on the
subject? The list of questions goes on. I would deeply appreciate any
information, from anywhere, that might shed some light on exactly who
John T. Carpenter's parents were, or for that matter the exact name of
the UFO that could have brought him to North Carolina. Do you know?
Thanks very much. Bobby L. Carpenter
