Subject: Margeret Carpenter

I am looking for any information on Margeret CARPENTER. She was
born ca 1859 in MS. According to family tradition, her mother was
full-blood Cherokee and her father was a Confederate veteran. Supposedly
the family came out west, but both parents died on the trail. The
children; Margeret, her older brother (Noah?),and an infant made it back
to Iowa(?) where her father's parents lived. Noah was killed later in
the Indian Wars. Margeret married Caldwell BROOKS and had several
children; Lulu, Marie/Emma, Olon Edward, and Joe/Earl, and others. They
lived in Oklahoma and Texas before moving to Washington state. Margeret
supposedly died in Nevada in the 1950's. I would love to hear from
anyone who has any info.
