Subject: Tracing Carepent/Newton (Loomis) surnames
Date: Wed, 16 Sep 1998 12:08:28 -0000
Greetings from Fife Lake, Michigan. Just wanted to share my excitement
with all of you on the list. I've recently received some new leads in my
step-fathers
family tree. I have traced his father (Jason Carpenter) back to John
Carpenter
who was born Abt. 1303 in Dilwayne, Herefordshire, England. His mother
(Larissa Loomis) heritage has been traced back to Oliver Lummyus born
Abt. 1469 in England. I've been able to trace his great-grandmother back to
Richard Newton born 1601 in England. There is quite interesting info.
On the Newton side he has quite a few Isaac Newton's but am not sure yet if
any of them are thee Isaac Newton. I have traced his line to Samuel Colt
who
made and patented the Colt Revolver. There are lots of stories also.
Indians
capturing family members, wars etc. Wow this genealogy thing is sure great.
Hope you all are able to soon know the excitement of finding a link in your
searches?
Well got to run. Looking forward to and enjoy hearing from all of you on
the list.
:)
