I am new to the list but have been searching for my ggg-grandfather who,
according to Michigan census records, was born in New York and resided in
Eaton County, Michigan around 1840 +/- a few years.

>From what I know, it is believed he was born around 1812/1813 somewhere in
New York. Records here in Michigan are sketchy and am looking for his
parents, siblings, birth location, etc. Most any information is helpful.

His wife's name was Sally A. Wilson (Carpenter) and they had six children:
Otis W. Carpenter
William H. Carpenter
Daniel R. Carpenter Jr.
Diana R. Carpenter
Perrin or Perine Carpenter
Grace or Grove Carpenter

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.
