Peter Ferris of East Chester,Westchester County,NY. Proprietor of Bulls Head
Tavern,picture 1783 in "Valentine 's Manuel "

Andrew died as a result of a fever contracted in 1778 at Fort Washington.

He was a solider in colonel John mead's regiment,captain James greene's
company. Enlisted at Flushing,LI,NY. His widow married Stephen Fields.[Rhode

Thomas was a 2 nd Lt. at the Battle of White Plains, NY , he was left for
dead but recovered and promoted to Capt.. In 1808 he was General of a
Brigade of Militia in Westchester County,NY. Thomas was left for dead at a
hosue that was surrounde by the Brittish during the battle. Several
Americans were taken prisoners including General Thomas,but by carefull
nursing he recovered. For his Bravery he was made Captain and then General.
