Dear Betty,
The GEDCOM data that I sent sends the Carpenter across the Atlantic pond
then even across the Channel to the Continent.
You have asked for data on: "James' parents" Who might he be?
Valentine's Manual was a collection of papers by Ellwood Valentine.
NOTE: Ellwood Valentine was related to this Carpenter family and
maintained records on this Carpenter line. Daniel H. Carpenter used
these records as a source. Unfortunately, DHC does not mention how.
I assume that Ellwood was related to Captain Jacob Valentine due to a
reference in the above book regarding a Bible. (see page 126)
John L. Carpenter of NH is in the process of scanning the book called:
"The Carpenter Family in America" by Daniel H. Carpenter, 1901.
Once he is done, I am sure he will share it on one of his web pages and
it will become part of the Carpenter CD.
I am sending a copy of this message to John L. Carpenter in hopes that
he has more on the Valentine family.
My web page has his 2 web sites. Goto:

Have you tried sending a message to the RootsWeb for Valentine?
Good Hunting!
