Subject: [CARPENTER] John Carpenter of Kentucky

I have been connected with Carpenter web site for a good spell now (sound
like my southern roots). I see Carpenters from near and far on this web
site. Surely, oh surely, I am not a lone descendent of John Carpenter
(brother of Owen Carpenter of North Carolina). John Carpenter had a
daughter named Nancy that married Nathaniel Egner (son of Peter) out of
North Carolina (Rowan County). Nathaniel and Nancy Carpenter Egner had a
daughter named Elizabeth that died in Van Buren County Arkansas between
1866 and 1877. Surely, I have a southern kissin Carpenter cousin out there
someplace. Or, must the poor cheese stand alone?

Bruce or John you both know so much about Carpenters, do you know anything
about my poor John? I don't even know to whom he was married. They tell
me that Owen and his son left John in Calloway County, Kentucky, in the
early 1830's and went on to Mississippi with their families.......A
misplaced southerner in California...margie

I wrote this with tongue in cheek, but I feel a little lonely without a
connected Carpenter. Who in the heck was John Carpenter of Calloway,
County, Kentucky?
