Hello Carpenters:
I was recently reminded of Jamaica (NY) town records of Feb 25 1675/6
refer to negotiations with Joseph Carpenter and Caleb Carman for
construction of mills. Although I've seen this before, I find I am missing
any notes as to which Joseph Carpenter the record refers to.
Does anyone know (or think you may know) what Joseph Carpenter this was?
I kind of suppose it refers to ABC's Joseph #19 (c.1633-1675), in that
Joseph #91 and Joseph #76 seem born much too late. But maybe there is some
other candidate(?), or maybe you have different dates for someone. Anyway,
if you can help identify the Joseph of the Jamaica records, I'll appreciate
any help.
(Also, any info on the descendatnts of Joseph #19 would be useful in any
case. ABC shows no family for him.)
