I have hit a brick wall with the ancestors of my gg-grandfather, Jeremiah
Williams. He was born about 1793 in CT. The family moved to OH at some time
after his birth. Jeremiah married Lavinia or Lovine Carpenter in Franklin County
OH in 1821. They were married by Lavinia's father Reuben Carpenter who was
born in Mass. Lavinia was born about 1792 in the Barre twnshp, Washington, VT.
Reuben was the Justice of the Peace in Franklin Co. Jeremiah and Lavinia had
four children born in OH. They were: Angeline, b. 1823, Jeremiah Jr, b. 1825,
Lucy, b. 1830 and Cyrus, b. 1832. The family migrated to the Republic of
Texas about 1836
