According to census records John Henry Karr was born in SC Apr 1, 1827. He married in AK about 1853 to Nancy Stokes daughter of Holloway Stokes. They later moved to TX. Their son Joshua Allen Kar was born Sep 15, 1869.

While at the Flint Public Library yesterday I found the following information. Hope it helps someone.
