announced in an Sacramento Bee article on
Friday, May 21, 1999, Sacramento County court information now
available on the Internet. The County court records program went
online last Thursday making information from Sacramento Superior
Court
available to the public. 'This is the first step toward having a
digital or electronic court system, said Steven M. Gotan, senior
systems analyst for the county court system. . . .one of only a
handful of counties in the state offering such access.' The system
included case numbers and abridged information on criminal, civil,
probate, family law and other court information. This system, not
only
helps the public, but will 'free court staff to spend more time
processing the 275,000 cases filed annually in Sacramento County.'
The
system will have a 21-day lag time and will include cases back to
1993. Tentative rulings and schedules for some civil courts will also
