I have copied your request and another citation on Ormiston and will be

One article in History of Northern CA says:
Ormiston W. SWAYZE, A. B. M. D. of Lakeport, was born near St. Catherines,
Canada, in the year 1865. In 1870 his parents moved to Michigan and in 1875
to CA. He lived in Quincy, Plumas County and then moved to Lakeport, Lake
County. He is the only homeopathic physician in Lakeport.

from another source in History of Sacramento Valley:
Dr. SWAYZE was born in the province of Ontario Canada on June 6 1867; his
family has lived for four generations on the same estate in Ontario. The
paternal great-grandfather, Capt.Isaac SWAYZE, who lived in the NJ colony
moved to Ontario where he received a grant of 1000 acres of land. The place
is still in the possession of the SWAYZE family, and the two four-pound
cannons which are mounted in front of the manorial residence serve to recall
the War of 1812. On this place were born Ormiston, his father, and his
grandfather. The mother, who was born in England, was descended from John
CHURCHILL, Duke of Marlborough. The Doctor is descended from sterling old
English stock.

When he was 10 years old he went with his mother to CA, because of her
health. At 14 he returned to Canada. He returned to CA in 1889 and was in
San Francisco at the Hahnemann Medical College.

In 1903 he went to Europe and then to Sacramento where he became ill with
malaria. He moved in 1919 to Nevada City.

He was married in Grass Valley in 1919.

Funny, neither article mentions the fact that Ormiston was an adopted son of
Thomas HAYCOCK. But the census looks like he is if this is the same person.
Is Isabella his mother, remarried to Thomas?
