I was referred to this list because I was told that there are folks on

here that could help me with a look-up request for an obituary that

occurred after 1923. I am not even sure there was an obituary published,

but I would sure like to find out.

The person that I am looking for an obituary for is John F. McClure, who

passed away on Feb. 22, 1937 at the age of 75 in Sacramento. Certificate

number for John is # 15311. This information was shared with me via a

query response on a RootsWeb.com message board. John was born about 1863

in Missouri. I have him there in 1870 in Dade County, MO with his

father, Frank, and possibly in 1880 working as a farm laborer in the

household of Frederick Pearson, also in Dade County, MO. I know that he

was in California by 1886 because he got married there. I believe that

this wedding occurred in Lakeport, Lake County, California and that it

is very likely that his brides parents had something to do with his

becoming a dentist.
