Furniture store owner

Donald J. Meeks, 81, of San Bernardino died Saturday of cancer at Riverside
Community Hospice.

Meeks, a native of Clinton, Iowa, lived in San Bernardino 70 years.

He owned the Westervelt Furniture Store. He was a member of the Army,
Arrowhead Country Club, San Bernardino Valley College Golf Team Fundraiser,
San Bernardino Optimist Club, and chartered the San Bernardino Elks Lodge
836.

Survivors include his wife, Margie; his son, Gary Huff of Big Bear; his
daughter, Kim Sousley of Gig Harbor, Wash.; two brothers, Robert of
Highland, Gene of Redondo Beach; seven grandchildren; and four great
grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel,
1299 E. Highland Ave., San Bernardino. Service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday
at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Monecito Memorial
Chapel, Waterman Avenue and Barton Road, Colton.
