I got a San Bernardino obit recently, no hassle, no searching, & the only
time was a few minutes on the internet to get the current phone #, & a short
drive. (Oh, I did take an unsolicited small box of SEES chocolate just in
case).
I checked the DC & called the mortuary. They were busy with a service at
the moment, & could they call back. I said sure. They called two days later
& said they had a copy in the file. They made a photo-copy, I drove over &
picked it up. Couldn't have been easier.
Otherwise, before searching thru some news paper, it might help to find out
if it is in some particular paper ?? Maybe the San Bernardino Sun, largest
paper in the county, but mostly on the flatlands. If up in the high
desert, there'd be a choice of several local, mostly weeklies, or in the
low desert area, there's probably some locals out in Palm Springs. I've
heard of Yucca Valley, but don't recall where it is.
