HERBERT C. RUPP
Memorial services for retired Navy Warrant Officer Herbert C. Rupp, 70, of
East San Diego, were today in Greenwood Mortuary. Entombment was in
Greenwood Mausoleum. He died Wednesday in a hospital.
Mr. Rupp, a native of Minnesota, lived in the county 51 years, served in
the Navy 20 years and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He
also had worked for the county Department of Health Services and as a food
Handling instructor in the san Diego Community College District.
He was an Eagle Scout and a member of the Warrant Officers Association,
Elks Lodge 2011 and the Mission Bay Yacht Club.
Survivors incluce his wife, Betty (Cassie) Rupp; a son, Robert of Vista;
two daughers, Jo Ann Bernard of Torrance and Linda Vergara of San Diego, a
brother, Frances of Minnesota; seven sisters, Lucille Herbertson of
Virginia, Joanne McCuskerof Mission Hills, Calif., and Martha Gaetz,
Blanche Matthews, Carol Schmitt, Sheila Saatzer, and Florence Schmidt, all
of Minnesota; and four grandchildren.

KENNETH R. MITCHELL
Services for Kenneth R. Mitchell, 82, of Kensington Park, will be at 10
a.m. Monday in Goodbody Mortuary. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery
in Glendale. He died Wednesday in a hospital.
Mr. Mitchell, a native of Chicago, lived in the county 60 years. He was a
retired electrical salesman and a 40-year member of the San Diego Rotary
Club, where he sang in the chorus.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie; a son, Morton of Phoenix; a
daughter, Diana Bradford of Mission Viejo; six grandchildren and nine
great-grandchildren.

ARANDA - Alfredo G., 41. Died 2/9/89. Visitation Sun. until Rosary 7
p.m., Mon. Services Tues 9 a.m. at Berge-Roberts Mortuary.

BAKER - Dwain A. Born Aug. 30, 1932 in San Diego. Passed away Feb. 9,
1989. Husband of Joan Baker. Father of Victoria, Suzanne, Jeanine,
Kathleen, Deain, Jr., and Edward Baker. 8 grandsons. Son of Elizabeth
Nichols. Brother of Fern Fanning. Services Fort Rosecrans National
Cemetery, SD. 1 p.m. Wed., Feb. 15th. Donations to American Cancer Society.

BULL - Horace William, 81, of Palo Cedro, CA passed away February 9, 1989.
Longtime resident of San Diego. World War II Navy veteran. SElf employed
dentist for 57 years. Life member of American Dental Assocation. Father
of Barbara Sylvester of Palo Cedro. Grandfather of Dean E. Sylvester of
Redding, and his wife Debra. 2 great-grandsons of REdding. Grandfather of
Mark Douglas and Steven Sylvester of Escondido. 5 great-grandchildren of
Escondido. No services will be held. Memorial contributions may be made
to Neo-Natel Intensive Care Unit Childrens Hospital, Frost St., San Diego,
CA 92001. Interment Redding, CA. Arrangements by McDoncal's Chapel,
Redding, CA.

COHEN - Blanche Blossom. Passed away Feb. 10, 1989 at age 85. Mother of
Allen Nathan Cohen, Lawrence Adams Cohen, Ronald L. Cohen, Nona Cohen,
Selma Schiller and pearl Cohen. 8 grandchildren. Sister of Ethel

HARTWELL - Devin Sterling. Died Feb. 9, 1989. Sopn of Corlan and Jodi L.
Hartwell. Grandson of Wally and frankie Hartwell, harold and Dana Rogers.

JOHNSON - Evelyn V. Born Dec. 3, 1913 in Decatur, Ill. Passed away Feb.
8, 1989 after a 10-month illness. Very loving wife of 55 years of Virgil
M. Johnson. Mother of Tish Ross, Sister of Mary Taylor and Ralph
Churchman. Evelyn and her family lived on Ocean Beach for about 40 years
and was active in the Ocean Beach Baptist Church and Ocean Beach Elementary
School and a friend to many in the community. SErvices Greenwood Salli
Lynn Chapel on Mon., Feb. 13th, 12 noon with viewing at 11 a.m.

LIEBLEIN - Rose. Passed away February 9, 1989. Wife of Dr. David
Lieblein. Mother of Jerry and Marvin Lieblein. 4 grandchildren. Services
Sun. 1 p.m. Cypress View/Bonham Brothers Mortuary. Entombment Cypress View
Mausoleum. Contributions may be made to either the Heart Association,
American Cancer Society or the jewish Counseling and Fellowship Center.
