GEORGE P. CANTUA
The rosary will be recited for George P. Castua, 55, of Spring Valley, at
7 tonight in the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, where a Mass
will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery. Goodbody Boulevard Chapel is in charge.
He died Monday in a hospital.
Mr. Contua, a native of Ariozona and a 26-year county resident, was a
civil service air conditioning mechanic for the Navy and was a Army veteran.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Ann and Brenda, and two sons, Robert
and Richard, all of San Diego; his mother, Maria Cantua of Arizona; four
brothers, David of Los Angeles, and Raul, Frank and Hector, and a sister,
Lilly Rodriguez, all of Arizona.
LUCILLE NEUMANN
Services for Lucille Neumann, 80, of Mira Mesa, will be conducted at 1
p.m. tomorrow in Greenwood Mortuary. Entombment will be in Greenwood
Mausoleum. She died Saturday in a hospital.
Mrs. Neumann, a homemaker, was born in Missouri and lived in the county 24
years.
Survivors include her husband, Elmer, and a sister, Penny Arnold of Los
Angeles.
HARRY K. FORD
Services for Harry K. Ford, 79, of Talmadge Park, will be conducted at 1
p.m. tomorrow in Rogers Morturay, followed by entombment in Greenwood
Mausoleum. He died Sunday in a hospital.
Mr. Ford was born in Ballston Spa, N.Y., and lived in the county 73 years.
He was an office manager and purchasing agent for Arden Mayfair Dairy Inc.,
past master of the East San Diego Masonic Lodge 561, a Royal Arch Mason,
past patron of the Estrella Chapter 412 Order of the Eastern Star and
executive secretary of the Masonic Service Bureau of San Deigo for five years.
Survivors include a daughter, Beverly Morgan of El Cajon; three
grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
ALTON G. SANDAKER
Memorial services for Alton G. "Tony" Sandaker, 69, of Birdland, will be
conducted at 2 p.m. tomorrow in Our Savior's Lutheran Church in San Diego.
Cremation was planned by Humphrey Mortuary with ashes to be scattered at
sea. He died Jan. 16 in his home.
Mr. Sandaker was born in North Dakota and lived in the county 44 years. He
was retired, having been a salesman/driver for the Carnation Co. for 15
years. He served in the Air Force for five years.
Surviviros include his wife, Marie; a son, James of San Diego; a daughter,
Karen Nestor of Bellingham, Wash; a brother, O.K. Sandy of San Diego; a
sister, Thelma Hajney of Montgomery, Minn; and two grandchildren.
RUDOLF KLOEBLE
Memorial services for restaurateur Rudolf Kleoble, 54, of Carmel Del Mar,
were conducted today in the garden of Rudi's Hidden Acres, 3799 Carmel
Valley Road. Creamation was planned by El Camino Mortuary with ashes to be
inurned. He died Friday in a hospital.
Mr. Kloeble, owner of Rudi's Hidden Acres restaurant, was a native of
Germany and a 27-year county resident.
Survivirs include his wife, Helen; two sons, Rudolf Jr. of San Diego, and
Wolfgang of Germany, three daughters, Janet Martin and Beth Schwallf, both
of Missouri, and Glenda Abella of Texas; two brothers, Ernst of La Jolla,
and Anton of Germany; 13 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
ALLICE C. REED, 77, EX-SCHOOLTEACHER IN NATIONAL CITY
Services wil be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday in the All Souls Episcopal
Church for Alice C. Reed, 77, a teacher in the National School District for
more than 12 years. Burial will be in the Nuevo Memory Gardens in Ramona.
Beardsley-Mitchell Mortury is in charge. She died Saturday in a hospital.
Mrs. Reed, a Mission Bay Park resident, was born in Arizona and moved to
San Diego County in 1908. She graduated from San Diego High School and San
Diego State University. In 1931, She continued her education at UC
Berkeley, and in 1932, received her teaching credentials in Mills College.
Upon her return to San Diego in 1933 she was elected as the National City
schools art supervisor. She also taught adult education at Ocean Beach and
Pacific Beach elementary schools. She retired in 1953.
Her father, Edgar F. Hastings, was a county supervisor from 1929 to 1936
and was instrumental in the development of Point Loma High School.
Mrs. Reed was a member of the Point Loma Unity Presbyterian Church Ladies
Circle, the San Diego Historical and Zoological societies and the Alpha Phi
Alumni Association.
Survivors include her husband, David, a son, David Jr. of San Diego, a
sister, Josephine Baird; and two grandchildren.
