Season's Greetings CASANFRA-L members!!

First - twilight zone music here ...

I found my other priest and it turns out he died about 15 miles from
where I live and is buried in Eureka at a graveyard with a whole other
dozen or so priests (more twilight zone music here
...).

Anyway, being this guy was all over the northern part of the State of
California for about 70 years performing weddings, funerals and
sprinkling holy water all over the place. Apparently he returned to
Arcata to die. (More musics please maestro ...).

I figured I post his obit. to see if anyone recognizes any of the
names. I see there is yet ANOTHER Nugentpriest mentioned - Terrance
NUGENT in San Francisco (twilight zone music again ...).

Let me know if anyone know of the 94 year old Monsignor here.

NUGENT-In Arcata, California on Monday, August 6, 1945. Rt. Rev.
Monsignor Thomas Nugent, pastor of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Arcata.
A native of Ireland, 94 years of age. Uncle of Rev. Terrance Nugent of
San Francisco, Miss Margaret Kellett of Arcata, Mrs. Annie O'Reilly of
Alliance.
At rest in the Chapel of the Redwoods until 7 p. m. Tuesday
evening.
Then he will be taken to his late Parochial residence where Rosary will
be recited at 8 p.m. tonight. At 7 p. m. Wednesday evening the remains
will be taken to St. Mary's Church to lie in state until the funeral.
Rosary will be recited at the church Wednesday at 8:00 p. m. The office
of the dead will be read in St. Mary's Church Thursday at 10:30 a. m.,
followed by a solemn requiem high mass which will be celebrated for the
repose of his soul at 11 am. The most Rev. Robert J. Armstrong, bishop
of Sacramento, will officiate. Interment at the new priests' plot, St.
Bernard's Cemetary, Eureka. All friends and parishoners are invited to
attend all services. Kindly omit flowers. (Chapel of the Redwoods,
directors).
