Dear Listers:

I have hit the proverbial brick wall. I have been for quite sometime trying
to obtain a copy of a family member’s marriage certificate. The marriage
took place on 1/8/1865 at San Francisco, CA. The marriage ceremony was
performed by Rabbi Schapiro in the California Hall located on Clay and
Montgomery Streets in San Francisco. I have written to two Synagogues asking
for information about how I might locate a copy of the marriage certificate
with no response. The information that I have is:

Groom:
Aaron HARRIS
Born: 4/7/1838, in Prussia
Married: 1/8/1865, San Francisco
Death: 1/8/1906, San Francisco

Bride: Lena Schlessinger
Born: 5/1/1844, Kemper, Prussia
Death: 10/30/1914, San Francisco

If any one can offer a means on retrieving a copy of this marriage
certificate I would be very grateful.
