Our library has a book entitled:
Records of California Men in the War of the Rebellion 1861 to 1867, compiled
by Brig. Gen Richard H. Orton, Adjutant-General 1890. Carlyle Parker has
indexed it so I can look at the index and if there's a William O'Brien
listed.
