Anita Gaffney was born in San Francisco on 5/4/1888. (source SSDI and Death
Record) and died in Napa, Napa Co., California on 2/12/1973.
It is believed her Mothers Maiden Name was Flynn and Fathers Surname was
Kearns. (Taken from records of siblings.)

Anita Gaffney
Mrs. Anita Gaffney of Napa died today at the Hy-Lond Convalescent Hospital.
She was born in San Francisco and graduated from Lowell High School. She was
a nursing student a Hahneman Hospital.
In 1910, she was married to William Gaffney. During WW11 she worked as a
volunteer for the Allied War Relief. She was active in the American Red
Cross and was awarded her 55-year pin in 1972.
She was one of the founders of the St. John the Baptist Mother's Club and
organized the school's first Traffic Patrol unit.
She was a charter member of the St. Apollinaris Ladies Guild and president
of the Lake-Solano and Napa County Deanery of National Council of Catholic
Women. In 1967 she was the recipient of the Papal appointment and medal "Pro
Ecclesia Et Pontiface." She was a charter member of the Napa Valley Social
Service Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband, William Gaffney of Napa; two daughters, Mrs.
William Walker of Sacramento and Mrs. Alfred Huntsinger of San Jose; two
sisters, Mrs. George Francard of Santa Rosa and Mrs. Genevieve Whitley of San
Rafael and one brother, Charles Kearns of Cambria, 15 grandchildren and 20
great-grandchildren.
Friends are invited to meet at the Claffey and Rota Funeral Home Wednesday
at 9:45 a.m. thence to St. Apollinaris Catholic Church where a Mass of
Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 a.m. The rosary will be recited at the
funeral home Tuesday evening at 8:00. Entombment will be in the Tulocay
Mausoleum.
