Here's a little more on THE PACIFIC MAIL STEAMSHIP COMPANY
"The Pacific Mail Steamship Company was absorbed by the Dollar lines in 1925
and later became the American President Lines, leaders in transpacific
shipping and claiming the title of oldest continuously operated steamship
company in the United States."
This was found at this site
http://www.raken.com/american_wealth/shipping_merchants/howland_aspinwall4.a
sp
which is a write up on William H. Aspinwall.
