Peggy

I checked the San Francisco City Directories, I started in 1921-22 and found a Daniel Twomey, who was a San Francisco Police Officer, so I started going backwards and found that he started in about 1909, he was one till he died 1938-01-25, at the age of 53. I did not check every one after 1921-22, but did check 1930 and 1935 he was the only Daniel Twomey, who was listed as a Police Office His obit from the San Francisco Chronicle of Thursday January 27, 1938 follows:
Twomey--In this city, January 25, 1938. Daniel J. beloved husband of Mary Twomey, loving father of Daniel J. Jr. ands the late Merle Twomey; a native of San Francisco. N member of the Widows and Orphans' Aid Assn.. S.F.P.D., and California Parlor, No. 1. N.S.G.W.
Funeral Friday at 9:15 a. m. from the Memorial Chapel of Jas. H. Reilly & Co., 29th and Dolores sts., thence to St. Pauls's Church, where a requiem high mass will be sung at 9:45 a. m. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
You might want to try e-mailing the Irish Culture Center in San Francisco and ask if they can ask Patrick Dowling who works in their library for he was a Asst. Police Chief in San Francisco.
Their web site http://www.irishcentersf.org/
Obit for their daughter/son?, Merle from the San Francisco Chronicle of February 3, 1928;

Twomey -- In this city February 2, 1928, Merle Eugene, dearly beloved son of Daniel J and Mary Twomey and loving of Daniel J. Twomey Jr., a native of San Francisco, aged 16 years.

Friends are invited to attend the funeral Saturday, February 4, at 8:30 a. m. from the modern funeral parlors of Jas. h Reilly & Co., 29th and Dolores sts.; thence to St. Paul's Church where a requiem high mass will be celebrated for the repose of his soul at 9 a. m. Interment Holy Cross.

Hope this is of some help

George
