From the 1900 San Francisco City Directory, it was his own shop, at 1706 Devisadero. As to O'Connor, Moffatt and Company from the 1890 San Francisco Directory, where he is listed as working for them, they were a importers and dealers of dry and fancy goods, at 111-121 Post and 10-20 Morton, now Maiden Lane.
Hope this is of some help.

I have found the butcher shop I've been searching for. Barbara had
suggested a website: http://www.sfo.com/~timandpamwolf/sfrancty.htm.
I had been on other sites that linked off of this one, but not this
actual one. Found 3 directory entries that listed the business address
and well as the residence. Cool.
The butcher shop was located at 1706 Devisadero, but don't have a name.
A few years earlier, I have Mark working as an assistant at O'Connor,
Moffatt & Company at 2918 Pine. Now I'm trying to find out what kind of
business that was.
Another question, does anyone know anything about the Mercedes Guild?
Or The Council of Catholic Nurses? Are they still in existence today?
Again, thanx to all. This is fun finding out about this family line,
but really want to know about Phoebe's uncle and his line. That's the
ultimate.
Happy hunting to all, Cindy
