Re: SF Geography. Islais Creek had a colorful name that rhymes with spit. It
was so named because the raw sewage ran downhill in channels to the bay as a
part of Isalis Creek. In Nancy Olmsted's book, VANISHED WATERS, A History of
San Francisco's Mission Bay, page 52 has a very powerful description of the
area.
