Need help with my Great-grandfather.

JOSEPH MITCHELL was born in New York 1824/1825. He was in San Francisco for
the 1860 census. He married ELIZABETH PALMER (born 1835 Connecticut) there 14
June 1864. By 1870 census he had moved to Mexico. While in San Francisco he
worked for a liquor company as a salesman/porter and may have worked as a
longshoreman.

Any scrap of info on Joseph or his wife is greatly appreciated!
