Subject: [CASANFRA] My San Francisco Story

My San Francisco story starts with Phebe Esther Palmer (b- Stonington,
Connecticut 1828 and her sister Elizabeth Palmer (b Stonington 1835) who went to San
Francisco. In 1859 Phebe Esther Palmer married Roswell Nash, Ship's Master,
who was born 1820 Connecticut but was living in San Francisco by 1852. Roswell
was married before but I have no idea what happen to that wife. I assume that
Roswell had met Phebe here in CT and had her come out to S.F. so they could
get married. Phebe sister Elizabeth Palmer met my G-grandfather, Joseph
Mitchell (b 1824/25 New York) and they married in S.F. in 1864. By 1870 they all had
mover to Mexico for some unknown reason.

I have, after thirty years of research, been unable to find the names of
Joseph Mitchell's parents. I'm hoping that there my be some clue left in San
Francisco which would aid in my search.

Happy Hunting

John
