John Murphy a SF native was active in the SF community, serving on the
Recreation Board and the Public Utilities Commission. From the CA Death
Records his mother's maiden name was Savage. When he died he left a
brother James C. Murphy, sister Mrs. Herman Makowski and a sister Mrs.
Louis Probst. He left grandchildren Mrs. Helen Howard and John P.
Murphy. His wife was Ellen E. Murphy.

My main interest in this family is finding out Ellen (Nell) Murphy's
maiden name. Somehow she is a cousin and may have had the maiden name
of Barry or O'Connor, but I think it might be Barry. From the CA Death
Records I am unable to pick which one she might be. Does anyone out
there recognize this family or have further information on them?
