Hi, all. I am a new lister living now in the SW France but originally from
UK.
The problem is this........
My mother Eva Rae was born in Bristol, UK in 1909. At some stage very soon
she was given away to another couple to raise; I did not know this tillafter
her deaath and have sought for years to unwind the mystery.
These real parents were Joseph RAE, born Scotland in 1874 and his wife Eva,
born either London or Bristol, UK 1879/1880. Now I think Joseph has been
located in the San Fransisco Census of 1920, in the hospital and his death 5
years later at the age of 52. The age, the place of birth, the occupation
all match as well as the name.
PLEASE can anyone advise me how to continue from here? as I have no idea how
the American administration works.
Is it possible to get his medical notes from the hospital, and if so, how,
please? Are there lots of hospitals? Do I need to PROVE he is my ancestor,
which of course I cannot do yet?
Is it possible to find out if the wife is Eva and where she was living and
if there were other children born to them?

I hope I am not asking too much and that someone can help/advise me.
