I've "rescued" an old photograph of Mabel Louise BACON taken at the J.H.
Peters Studio in San Francisco, California. The photograph is dated May
1895 with Mabel appearing to be in her teens at the time it was taken. In
addition to her name and the date someone has also included what appears to
be a Greek sorority symbol.

Based on limited research I believe this may be a photograph of Mabel BACON
daughter of Jacob & Caroline BACON all living in San Francisco during the
1880 census. The family included Jacob age 46 a Printer by trade born in
Maine, his wife Caroline age 45 also born in Maine, a daughter Mabel age 2
and a son Edward K. age 3 months, both children born in California.

The household also included two servants, Jennie MCKNIGHT and "Ben" a
Chinese Servant. I'm hoping to be able to locate someone from Mabel's
family so that this wonderful old photograph can be returned to family. If
you are a member of this BACON Family or know someone who might be, please
